Methodology
Every calculator on Wapuula Tools uses a standard, transparent formula — shown in full on each tool's page so you can check the maths yourself.
- Weighted grade. Overall = the sum of each score times its weight, divided by the total of the weights. The letter grade uses the standard US scale (A ≥ 90, B ≥ 80, C ≥ 70, D ≥ 60, otherwise F).
- Final grade ("what do I need"). Needed = (target − current × (1 − final weight)) ÷ final weight. We flag when a target is not achievable or already secured.
- GPA. GPA = the sum of each course's grade points times its credits, divided by the total credits, to two decimal places.
- Average. Mean = sum ÷ count, alongside the count, sum, minimum and maximum.
- Pass / fail. A mark passes when it is at or above the pass mark; we also show the margin.
No fabricated numbers. Calculator maths is deterministic and unit-testable. Grading-scale boundaries come from a human-curated, sourced dataset — never guessed — and every scale page states its source and a "confirm with your institution" caveat.
